![]() ![]() Mark joined SEH in 2008 and is in charge of clinical governance, with responsibilities ranging from audit, complaints regarding doctors and the management of any doctors giving cause for concern. He is also a GP registered with the West Kent PCT Performers List and works part-time at a practice in Tunbridge Wells. Mark has worked in Out of Hours for many years. He was Medical Manager and then Director of the Association of Maidstone Doctors On Call from 1991 to 2002, when MAIDDOC became part of On Call Care. He then became Chief Executive and Medical Director at On Call Care. Between 1993 and 2005, he was Secretary and subsequently Chair of the National Association of GP Co-operatives – an organisation with a membership which grew from four to 250 during this period. NAGPC championed best practice and MARK worked closely with the Royal College of General Practitioners, as well as Department of Health working parties and groups concerned with out of hours care. He continues to be involved with these Department of Health groups at a national level. Mark is now an elected member and spokesman of the NHS Alliance Providers Leadership Group, which took over the work of NAGPC when it closed. He is also Chairman of Urgent Health UK (UHUK) – a subsidiary of five social enterprise providers of urgent and out of hours care, including SEH. UHUK is committed to developing best practice in all its member organisations. Mark was awarded an MBE for services to Out of Hours care in June 1998. |
