Local residents are registered with a number of GP practices and this will not change. The new service offers another option for specific elements of routine healthcare, such as:
• Minor injuries Care • Minor Illness care • Dressings • Blood pressure tests • Contraception including free condoms • Cervical Screening • Young People’s health promotion • Well woman and man • Blood tests • Pregnancy tests • Chlamydia tests • Childhood immunisations • Smoking cessation.
Patients have a choice of booked appointments and a walk-in service. Some services such as blood tests are available by arrangement with their own GP. Those who attend the clinic mostly live locally and GPs are able to refer their patients for the routine care detailed above.
